CHANGING LIVES THROUGH THE GAME OF TENNIS

Coach B is a native of San Diego, California, and is recognized nationwide for her years of competitive play and coaching. After spending most of her career in Southern California, she now calls Evansville, Indiana, her home.

Coach B has been involved with many aspects of the tennis business and spends a great deal of time helping develop local, national and international grassroots tennis. As a player and a teacher, Coach B has a participated in all aspects of the tennis industry. She has taught and coached tennis to many levels of players, from toddlers holding their first racquets to junior pros in national competitions. Coach B received “Community Service Awards” from the San Diego District Tennis Association, the USTA Southern California Tennis Association (SCTA), the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA), the PTR and the USTA. Coach B is also a two-time “Top 50 Tennis Welcome Center” award recipient in 2009 and 2011. She also received the “Indiana State PTR Pro of the Year” award in 2012.

Since her move to Indiana, Coach B has introduced Tennis in the Parks, grassroots programs and local YMCA programs. Pioneering lessons for Quick Start (children ages 5-10), start and re-start for older adults, Outreach Tennis (disadvantaged and minority kids), USTA league play for children, special populations programs, as well as, bringing her own academy- SCATA Tennis- to its new home base in Evansville, providing ways to purchase proper equipment, clothing, correct types of racquets, bags and proper sized backpacks for all levels of players.

By preparing junior players for collegiate play with college scholarship opportunities in the United States and abroad, Coach B encourages young adults to give back to their communities for KIK (Kids Instructing Kids) mentoring program.

Coach B is also an associate coach with the Pros of the Caribbean Organization. She believes in their mission of bringing countries together with a junior tennis camps. Coach B is a featured speaker at various tennis teaching workshops, conventions and symposiums across the United States, Canada and the Caribbean Islands. She has been featured in Tennis Pro Magazine for her “Kick Butt Tennis Camps.”

Coach B is currently the Director of Operations for “America’s Tennis Team,” a group of US players ages 13-18 traveling to the UK to represent American tennis. SCATA Tennis calls come, Oak Meadow Country Club, on the north side of Evansville, Indiana. She developed “outreach tennis” for the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana.

There are many reasons to become a member of the SCATA family! First and foremost, it is a family owned and operated business. Secondly, SCATA focuses on family and family values. Pick any other sport where every member of a family can play together, from 3 to 83, all at one time. Finally, every SCATA member is treated with respect and care. Each person is unique, especially our children.
